About
A Rich History of Machining, Thermal Spraying & Surface Technology
When ATCAM was founded in 1993 by Peter Andres, he had a clear goal in mind – to open a Thermal Spray coating and Machine shop that provided truly cost-effective solutions to industry needs. Following the lead of his father, one of the founders of Fox Valley Tool & Die, Inc., Peter decided to capitalize on the experience to provide just such a service. As a former customer service manager at Miller Thermal Inc., Peter had an intimate knowledge of the thermal spray coating process and customer service.
Change in Leadership & Expanding Capabilities
ATCAM experienced rapid growth and expanded from its original 5,000 sq. ft. facility to 10,000 sq. ft. in 1995 then onto 20,000 sq. ft. in 1998. In 2001 long-time employee Michael Bultman (Vice President) became a partner and remains with ATCAM today. Peter expanded the facility another 35,000 sq. ft. in 2011.
ATCAM also expanded its thermal coating line and machining capabilities. ATCAM added large and small CNC machining, as well as a robotic thermal coating cell and additional top coating services including Teflon®, silicone release and powder coatings. ATCAM continues to grow its products and services and proudly supports the diverse needs of OEM’s, Paper Companies, Mechanical Contractors, and Defense Contractors throughout the country. The company has now grown to over 20 employees.
